Frix-on Bio

Born in Salford, Manchester in 1983.  i have always been intrested in music and has been a passion. Without direction it was just listening to music but since i became friends with Phil Dolla Bill, Beefe and Jeep the realization of being able to make music myself became real. They gave me the belief that i could do something and i tried my hand at rapping which i still do. I can sit down with a pad and a pen and just write, its like a way to say what i think in differnt ways, even if im just writing for myself and not to put to a track. I started making beats with Ejay hip hop which looking back was very basic, now im using pro tools, cubase, reason, recycle and Sound Forge as well as trying to teach myself Audition for my degree course. Ive got an Akai MPC 1000 which is the main part of my studio, which at the moment is in bits waiting to go into my converted loft which will be soley my studio (better then using my bedroom and keeping the Mrs awake all night).

Over the years i have got more and more equipment (i love my Akai MPC) so that i can record for myself, any song i make can be done without having to rely on other people to book studio time. Also with my experience at Manchester School of sound recording i can basically produce and master a whole album from nothing. At the minute im at Salford University doing a degree in Professional sound and video and trying to find time to make music in my home studio. My girlfriend, Kirsty is pregnant with twins, Blake and Caitlyn who are due in January which i cant wait for. At the moment my life is a bit crazy with 2 jobs and a full time degree course and kids on the way, but i wanna settle down into a job after i graduate so i have time to conertrate on my family around just one job.

At the moment im making hip hop beats but am looking to expand into different genres such as drum and bass and dance. Also i am looking to start recording bands as i am a qualified producer and Pro Tools user, i dont wanna lose touch of music or get out the swing of creating.
