Love him or hate him Dwanye Carter a.k.a. Lil Wayne has made huge waves in the hip hop world this year. His album “Tha Carter III” sold over a million copies in its first week, the first album to do that since 50 Cents 2nd album “The Massacre”. His first track off he album, “Lollipop” featuring Static was Lil Wayne’s first solo venture into the top 10. His 3rd single off the album “Got Money” peaked at number 13 which featured T-Pain. The album included Jay-Z, Busta Rhymes, T-Pain, Fabolous, Styles P, Robin Thicke, Static and Bobby Valentino.
Lil Wayne has been requested by many people to be featured in their tracks since the album such as Lloyd, Usher, Cassie, Akon, Keri Hilson, T-Pain, Game and T.I. Tha Carter III has gone two times platinum and he has picked up many awards:-
BET – Ringtone of the year, Lyricist of the year, Peoples Champ, CD of the year, MVP, Best Hip hop collab
Grammy – Best Rap perfromance “Make it Rain” with Fat Joe (Nominated)
Ozone – Best Rap Artist, Best Lyricist
MTV – Best hip hop video “Lollipop”, Artists choice

There are so many other rappers out there that deserve artist of the year such as Jay z, Kanye West, Busta Rhymes the list goes on. shame on you people for supporting lil wayne.
do ur reading mate, ili wayne has sold more thne anyone in hip hop. Kanye West or jay-z havnt dropped an album yet this year and probably wont sell as much as lil wayne did. Even tho i prefer them both Lil Wayne has out sold everyone. So maybe u dont like him,, but he is richer then you. we couldnt even afford his tattoos.
